Hi again, many thanks for the replies.  It has been hammering down with rain recently so have taken some snaps.  My friend who used to work for a lawn company is pretty sure they are worms.  He says because it has been so wet recently all the worms are near the surface.  He thinks once the weather dries up they will reduce in appearance.  I hope so.  What do you think....?

Also, these little beasts have popped up!  What are they and how can I kill them off without damaging my lawn?

Do you collect your lawn clippings in a catcher?

I was curious about how many folks collect their clippings vs not.

We have been normally collecting our lawn clippings with our push mower.  We compost them to be used in our garden for the next year.  It is amazing how much you actually collect when you mow your lawn.  I was told that it is good for your lawn to collect the clippings rather than let them lay.

I was hoping that folks here could share some tips and advice on how to get rid of dandelions.

Is there a particular spray that you recommend?  I really don't want to dig them up by hand..

There are a lot of dandelion weed killers here at Wal-Mart.  I cannot give you a specific product brand, but I do know that there are some that work really well.  Although you may need to respray every so often.
